The new version of the Vienna Museum is now open

After three years of renovation and expansion, the Vienna Museum reopened at Karlsplatz in Vienna. It is a place that tells the city's history in an entirely new way, and at the same time is a modern meeting place for all culture-inspired people who live in or visit Vienna. With a unique collection of top-class works of art and historical exhibits, the Vienna Museum offers an insight into the history of the Austrian capital in its main building on Karlsplatz. The city museum was built by Oswald Haerdtl in the 1950s. After three years of renovation and expansion, it reopened on December 6, 2023. After the renovation, the museum gained a clear structure: on the first three floors, in the old Haerdtl building, there is a permanent exhibition “Vienna.
